The Florida Mine Safety Program (FMSP) was honored to receive the 2018 TRAM Training Materials Competition Grand Prize for our mine safety training video at MSHA’s annual Training Resources Applied to Mining (TRAM) Conference in Beaver, WV on Oct. 9. FMSP’s video, “Mine Rescues – Plan Now Well Ahead of Any Incident,” also took home First Place in the competition’s video category. The video explains how mine operators can build a continuing relationship with outside responders including fire departments, law enforcement and paramedics long before a rescue incident requires assistance.

TRAM Training Materials Competition entries from all sources of mining-related training materials compete in three categories: video, printed material, and mixed media. The materials developed and entered in the competition can have long-lasting, positive impact on health and safety training at mining operations. The ultimate goal of improved, innovated training is to reduce and prevent workplace fatalities, injuries, and illnesses.
