YOU can help save the life of a person very dear to the Mine Rescue Community; read below for information on how you can help Dr. Jeffery Kravitz find a kidney!
“My name is Dr. Jeffery Kravitz. All my career I have worked in search and rescue. I was also at the Pentagon during 9/11, and have been deployed to other countries (Argentina, Austria, New Zealand) to assist with many rescues.
During my life, I have valued my role as a loving husband, father, and grandfather along with my relationships with family and friends. Among other things, I have been an Engineer, an Equestrian, a Pilot, a Boat captain, a Professor, and a Skier. I have really enjoyed life and try to live each day to the fullest. I am currently the President of the Holmes Mine Rescue Association – an organization consisting of search and rescue experts throughout the United States, with International ties.
This year my kidney function failed uncontrollably due to diabetes, and now my kidneys barely function. I need a living donor for a kidney transplant to survive. Ideally, I would like to find a donor who can match my type O blood, but blood type is not an issue for a match, since UPMC participates in the national kidney pairing program.
I am in the transplant program at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC). Please find the contact information below for donor registration and visit the following website: LivingDonorReg.UPMC.com
Thank you for taking the time to read my story. Please share this with your family, friends, and work associates.
Together with your help, a life will be saved that has saved so many others.
With Love, Hope, and Prayers, Jeff.”
